What about me?

Hi I have been told by SS that I can not get any SS because I was a stay home mom & I never paid in. My husband gets SSDI $1157 a mo for a family of 2. SS also told me im not disabled under their guidelines. This is what I do not get. I have to have help even to stand up at times & I think I need a hip replacement because my Dr said I have Osteo in both hips and both knees & my left hip is off the chart. I also was told by 2 foot doctors I have giant fish hook shaped heel spurs & my feet were collapsing & the ligaments pulling from the bone. I also have a sever nerve injury to my right foot/leg/ankel area where I was ran over. In 2010 (last time I saw a dr) I had Blue Cross Blue Shield ins through my husbands job. My Dr & BCBS AGREED im bad off enough they got me a $6,000 electric wheelchair. I can walk but not much or far I cant stand more than 1 min without great pain. I also found out last year I have 4 deteriating disks in my neck when I ended up in the hospital for 5 days. Im 47 5'10 350 or more lbs. How am I not disabled? No one will hire me because I most likely couldnt do the job for pain as well as I have gout & a bad back. I have shortness of breath as well. Im on a cane all the time if I leave home because I can be walking & my left leg just goes out on me & I bout hit the floor. My knees and hip try to pop out of socket it feels sometimes even when sitting. My Dr signed so I could get a permenat disability parking sticker. So how am I not disabled?

DMV requirements are a lot simpler than Social Security's requirements to meet their different definitions of "disabled".

I would recommend going to a Dr. if you haven't been to one since 2010, and work on treating your physical problems (Social Security will likely need current doctors diagnoses and treatment plans). Get a referral to specialists from your Dr. and get your body repaired as best as possible. Its amazing how much HEALTH and being out of pain can do to correct the other problems in your life.
