After being out of work, I have finally been diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and Sjogren's Syndrome. My illness, chronic fatigue, and progressing symptoms had been blamed on depression, chronic fatigue, etc. for a long time, although it was always suspected that I had some type of auto-immune disorder. Because you have to go through the round of various doctors to rule everything else out, I finally got to a specialist (Rheumatologist/Internist) who finally officially diagnosed me. My specialist told me to apply for disability immediately and asked why I haven't already. I told her I didn't feel like I could apply for disability before this time because I couldn't say I have this illness based on suspicion. I am thousands of dollars behind in medical bills and completely broke. My house has a short sale waiting for approval and the foreclosure process happening simultaneously. If the short sale happens, I will be moving from Florida to Michigan where I have people who can help care for me...I have no family in FL, and my friends have abandoned me. I have been told that once you apply in one office that you are stuck or committed to that office forever, even if you move. Is this true? I don't want to wait, but since I will be moving sometime (? don't know when), I'm not sure what to do. Any help or suggestions? Thank you! ~M
