Hi, I live in a small town in California and I filed for SSDI over four years ago and have spoke to my attorney only 3 times. And one one occasion, he screamed and yelled at me. There has been some shady things going on and when I ask about things they are telling me that don't make sense, I get the run around. I was told that I had ran out of work credits and my case was no longer viable in 2018 but was not informed of this until I received a denial in 2020.
My xhusband lies to his lawyer sent checks to a fake address so he would get the checks back. He is charges through MDHS in MS Gregory Charles Prather 3-14-1972 that’s his info ! New payee for an individual who was just approved for SSI and SSDI.
SSI sent a letter notifying us that they are reducing the individuals payments down to $0.00 for Jan 2019 onward because of increased income from social security benefits which I can only guess is SSDI that exceeds 2019's $771.00 SSI payment before deducting medicare premiums. However the individual has child support garnishments affecting what he is getting from SSDI along with medicare premium deduction.
My question is, do the garnishments reduce the SSDI income that is seen by SSI?
Will my SSI be affected if move to Texas?
I am currently receiving SSI in MN for my disability. I am wondering if there are options to work minimally while on SSI?
My mother is leaving a "Special Needs Trust" when she dies. A lawyer told her that it will not affect my benefits. Was she given correct information. As long as I do not use that money for food or housing I will be obeying the rules correct?
