my husband died in 2004 but now his surviving child is in college I was told I could collect on his socisl security when I am 50 is that true and I am also dissabaled.
Hi Jeri,
If your son is in college, I do not believe that he would be eligible for survivors' benefits. You could collect survivors' benefits at age 50 only if you are disabled, otherwise, it will be age 62. You will also not be able to remarry and collect survivors' benefits.
