Hi, I'm 4'8 1/
I grow up w/a learning disability
In 8th grade I got in an accident & have Tramatic brain injury now I'm 35 & get really bad headache & ALL my doctor gives me is
IBprofen 800 that she says take 2 at the same time if really bad. Also she has told me that I'm bipolar & has giving me medicine for, but they make me tired when I go to work.
Can I apply?
I am 4 10 .. I have a hole in my heart, a ventricle septal defect. I am not a dwarf..but my heart has stunted my growth and leaves me very tired. I am 42 yrs old. I dont work. Would i qualify?
i have spinal stenosis and always in pain it even hurts to walk and my height has deteriorated because of the degenerative disc I've already had one surgery so I was wondering if I qualified I have other issues but that's my most important because it hurts to walk
Hi Yvonne,
I'm sorry to hear about that! You may want to speak with a disability attorney or advocate, they can help you through the application process and
fight for you if you need to appeal the SSA's decision. You can get in touch with one by filling out this form: http://www.disability-benefits-help.org/form/free-disability-evaluation
I'm very confused. I'm 4'6" and have been told countless times that since I am considered a "midget" that I would qualify for a disability because of how hard it would be to work. Other than that the only problems I have is my asthma.
Hi Annette,
A diagnosis of dwarfism does not mean that you are eligible for benefits unless it affects your ability to work, you don't qualify simply for having dwarfism. You may want to contact a disability attorney or advocate if you are unable to work due to your stature, you can get in touch with one by filling out this form: http://www.disability-benefits-help.org/form/free-disability-evaluation

Hi there,
Yes, as the Americans with Disabilities Act covers everyone with a disability as defined by the act, regardless of their SSDI eligibility.

Hi There,
You may be able to. You can go to the SSA's website and apply online or schedule an appointment with your local SSA office.

Hi Jeevan,
You would be eligible for benefits if your stature makes you unable to work, rather than just what you look like or your height.

Hi Lauren,
You would qualify if conditions associated with your stature make you unable to work.

Hi Jennie,
She may be able to, it might be a good idea to contact a local SSA office. You can find a listing of them here:
