Hi! I was wondering what it means I called to check on my claim and the automated service said a decision was made and i would get a explanation letter in the mail! Is this Good or Bad?
Website says A medical decision has been made and we are proessing your benefit appliation. So I called them and was told I have been found to be disabled but couldnt tell me if i as approved. Any thoughts?
The SSA may now be looking to see if you meet the other requirements. For SSDI, this would be having enough work credits and for SSI you will need to be within specific income limits.
There are a couple of steps to make a decision on the disability benefits process. This means that they are in the process of determining your benefits and you should receive something in the mail when your final decision has been made.
It means that your claim is still being processed to see if you qualify for disability benefits. I could continue to monitor this to make sure the SSA does not request any more information!
It varies on a case by case basis. Sometimes it does take a few months to hear back about a decision. I would continue to monitor your status incase the SSA requests more information.
Your hearing was held. The Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) is reviewing your case, and we are developing for any additional evidence before the ALJ issues a decision. A Social Security Representative may contact you or your appointed representative if we need any additional documents or information. What's this mean?
It means that they are still working to decide if you qualify for disability benefits. If they need more information about your claim, they will either contact you or your lawyer (if you worked with one) to have you send the information they need.
That means that SSA is still evaluating at your claim to see if you are eligible for benefits. If they need more information to decide if you qualify, they will reach out to you.
Had my hearing on 12/17/20. On 1/6/21, the SS website was updated with this info. What does this mean?

My ssi portion is gone under my name. It use to say initial and processing.
My social security disability still say processing but determination is still under review. So is this a good thing?
Thank you!
