I became disabled in October of 2010 and applied for SSDI. I have been treated by my doctor every week since then and have retained an attorney for my SSDI process.
I have been paying in to the Social Security system for 38 years and am 55 years old. I had been at my last job for 20 years until I had to retire in June 2012 due to my disability.
During my hearing the judge asked the Vocational Expert if I would be able to do full time work in my present position and she told the judge that I would not be able to. The judge then asked I would be able to do full time work in any position and the VE answered no, that I would not.
My doctor also provided paperwork that stated that I have a total disability and could not do any work. I also provided a letter from my former boss who I worked directly for the entire 20 years stating that I was a dependable and dedicated employee until I started missing a lot of days during the summer of 2010 due to the start up of my disability.
I just found out that my case is with a Decision Writer and would be turning the case back over to the judge in a couple of weeks.
My question is, with my work history, age, doctors treatment and findings of the Vocational Expert, what would be my chances of being rewarded benefits?

Every case is different and the underwriting times for decisions can vary, but you may know in a few months!
Hi I recently had a hearing and the vocational expert told the judge that there is know jobs I can perform. Do I have a good chance of winning.

I really could not say, but it may be a good sign that you were able to have a vocational expert say you were unable to perform any jobs.
I live in Florence Or my hearing will be Eugene. I have waited over 16 months. A year ago I had a cocklear implant it's a nightmare I heard that people with cocklear implants always get approved is that true? I'm also 59 does that help

Hi Kim,
The SSA determines disability based on age, ability to be re-trained for other jobs, and the severity of your condition.
I had a court date in august.. I just called my local odar today to find out he status.. was told a decision had been mad but nothing written yet... anyone know what that means.... is it good or bad?

That means the underwriters are still writing the judge's decision. You should know soon enough!

I am from Kansas and let me tell you getting disability here is never ending.
I was denied twice and then it was set for a hearing July 2016. I have not heard anything yet on the decision. The hearing went great which means everyone agreed that I was unable to work due to my many physical and mental disabilities. I have called the hearing line each month since July to find out if a decision has been made. Each month I am told it is on the Judge desk and I just have to wait. I believe I have waited enough time. I filed in March 2013 had two denials finally got a hearing for July 2016 and now we are in November 2016 and no answer. I am frustrated and want to know what I can do. Obviously just calling the hearing office does not do anything. Please if you have any suggestions let me know. Stevie

Hi, I had my disability hearing in July of 2016. It's now 3 1/2 months with no answer from the ALJ. I've been reading the posts and I think one said, the longer the wait, it's usually a denial. The VE said there were jobs I could do. But in all reality, I can't. I have severe sleep apnea which causes me to simply fall asleep at odd times. Sleep apnea is my disabilty along with other disabilities as well. My lawyer stated my disabilities are mental and physical. Is this a normal wait time? Because the VE said there were jobs for me to do, does that mean I'll be denied?

I really couldn't say regarding your case specifically, but the SSA does award benefits based on their determinations of your ability to work, you age, level of education, and your ability to be re-trained for other work.
Hey you guys I have high anxiety I've been to the SSDI Court twice I've been to their doctor I have a lawyer I recently went and they sent me a assessment form for my primary doctor to fill out which he filled out and I went over it and it looks like it was on my behalf that everything that's wrong with me he wrote it down and I'm not able to stay longer than an hour to walk more than 20 minutes without my back and my legs I have carpal tunnel disease high blood pressure arthritis I called my lawyer just now to ask if they received the assessment form mailed by my doctor they said yes they received it yesterday that they went ahead and forwarded to the judge my deoression and axity is at an all-time high because now I have to wait for the decision letter is there anything you guys can tell me to try to ease my mind I'm pacing back and forth about how long should I wait to receive the letter please help

My previous comment was cut short..After the CE appts, (9/27,9/30), I received a letter from the local office, labeled:Retired, Survivors, and Disability Insurance, Important Information. They asked for the original marriage certificate for me and my deceased husband and a w-2, which can be a copy. I had to have it by 11/19/16, to process my claim, if not in by said time, my claim would be denied. I received a letter from the judge saying he was ready to render a decision a week later. It was dated on the same day I sent documents to local office. So I've been stalking the mail..lol. Does it sound like an approval. My nerves are shot. I'll be 52 next month and I filed ssdi. Thank you in advance.

Hi Dee,
It's hard to know for sure if you were approved! But if they're asking for additional clerical information, not medical information, you may have a good chance of approval.
The VE said I can no longer do the pass jobs I used to do. I'm 59 with bone weakness modern depression recurring PST back pain is it likely I will be approved

It's possible, but nobody can know but a disability examiner! I would recommend speaking with an attorney who can help evaluate your claim and give you an better idea as to whether or not you'll be approved.
