Direct deposit

My Wife suffered from a right Craniotomybor Aneurysm, she was unconicous when I found her and she has gone through the surgrey back on Jan 2/11. We did not have a power of attorney set up for either of us, she has not been concious long enough since the surgrey for me to have the paper work completed. I do a have a letter from the assisted living facility stating her condition but I have not had any luck in getting a bank to open an account for her to deposit her SSI and Disability checks for her so I can pay her expenses. Is there other avenue that I can use to direct deposit those checks into my bank account
