If a grandpa leaves $60,000 in inheritance to his grandson who is receiving SSDI benefits how is that handled?

Hi there,
It's always best to check in with your local SSA office regarding matters like this, but if the grandson is receiving benefits based on his work history, it should not affect his benefits as work-based SSDI benefits do not have a limit for unearned income (This would include stocks, profits from the ownership of a business, and inheritances, to name a few types).
I have SSDI but I want to get a permanent disability status. How do I go about doing so?

Hi Barbara,
You may want to speak with a SSA representative regarding that.
If you already had one offset by Workerscomp and when you reached the age of 62 they start giving you your full benefits and the social security (SSDI) then offset your be fits too is this allowed

Hi there,
SSDI should never be offset by workers' compensation.
