I filed for SSD in Jan 2020 . i have filed for a divorce and have received my eligibility status and back pay.

I have been approved for SSD and have received a check for back pay. I am in the process of a divorce. Is this considered community property? I have been told it is not.
I know that it can be decided by the State, but doesn't the Federal guideline explain that it is not considered community property or income?
