Do You Qualify?

why is this...

I have a friend who gets disability. Her ONLY "disability" is that she gets so busy that her back hurts for a few days. She goes to the gym all the time, she goes on 10 mile bike rides, she goes to school full time, is in many support groups, and even earns a little extra money on the side writing textbooks.

broken ankle

I am 19 years old and haven’t worked because I was a senior in high school when I broke my ankle. I am recovering after my second ankle surgery. I broke my ankle on mother’s day of 2013; I had the first surgery in June and spent 2 months recovering Only to find out that 2 of 4 screws that was put in my ankle broke and caused the ankle to heal improperly. So my doctor at the time referred me to a second doctor to have a second opinion. The second doctor determined that a second surgery was necessary. the second surgery was on October 4th and shortly after that is when I started my claim.

Extreme Disability Question

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

My 53 year old sister had to have both legs amputated last year. She had an in home day care business for 30 years and never paid into SS during that time. Prior to that she did pay some into SS but I'm sure she did not meet the minimum quarters requirement. My question is this: Her husband just retired to take care of her and I am aware that when she is 62 she qualifies for a percentage of his retirement benefits. What about disability benefits for her? I have read nothing that would cover this for her. Any thoughts?

My son is 23 years old and is not able to work due to an accident he had 17 years ago with a lawnmower, his foot/ankle area have constant arthritic pain and he is not able to walk/work without crutches. He just had a surgery on 7/1/3 and is not able to walk or work. Is he eligible for disability benefits?

I am getting laid off from my work at 61 years old and have health concerns

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am probably going to get laid off from my work at 61 years old. I have 2 bad rota-tor cuffs, and was told they might not be able to fix one. I have kept working and never did surgery. I have "Major depression Disorder" and have been seeing a Psychiatrist for over 3 years. I also have other health concerns in which I am seeing doctors for. I am hoping to have a diagnosis for this latest condition soon (I have lost my sense of taste and have terrible mouth pain). I have worked my whole life and never lived off of any government programs. I am afraid and alone.

Do I qualify? (Type 1 Diabetes and Knee injury)

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 13 (22 now) and about two month ago I dislocated my knee cap and am now under doctors orders to stay from work considering I can't stay on it for more then two hours without being in pain and it swelling. I'm just wondering if I qualify for anything whether that is some type of health insurance to cover my meds or anything else.
