Do you think I qualify?

I am a 55 year old female that has severe degenerative arthritis in my wrist, scoliosis and a partial lung due to birth defect. I have earned enough credits for SSD, worked for the last 24years doing the same type of job. It is 100% physical labor. I wear a brace on my hand everyday trying to work. I am to the point that I cannot continue with this job. Do you think I have a chance?

My Mom is, and has collected SS for 17 years along with a small $61 check from my Dad's retirement who passed in 2007. I would like to know if she qualifies for SSI? She has dementia and I (her son) am her caregiver. Being 84 and reading the questions relating to "can she work" is a little confusing at her age. She is getting worse by the month and the doctors are saying she is showing signs of Alzheimer's. I had to quit work to help her and the doctor has stated she needs 24/7 monitoring.

Dad on Disability- Can another member qualify to?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

My Dad is on Disability and my Mom just had a baby and she is 6 months old and still has not come home from the hospital yet due to a serious Intestinal disease. The baby will always require Nutrition intravenously due to this disease. We have been told that she would not qualify for SSI or Medacaid because my Dad is on Disability. Is this true? He is on disability due to a Brain injury he suffered in Afghanistan while in the military.

How can we get the baby approved for Medacaid? They have insurance but the 20% after insurance is burying them in debt already.
