I have children and their father has recently went for a hearing is waiting on a decision. I was told that the kids will qualify for benefits. I have several questions.
How is the amount determined?
What are the rules for the cutoff age to recieve benefits?
Do the children recieve back pay as well?
What steps if any do I need to take to set up their case?
If a child is 18 but still in high school do they qualify, and for how long?

Hello,
Unfortunately laryngomalacia is not in the Social Security blue book, however he could still qualify under other symptoms.
Best of Luck,
Eric

What other symptoms are you talking about? My child also has LM and failure to thrive, GERDS, and has a feeding tube. Would any of this help? Bc doc visits are getting expensive and he sees a specialist a lot.

Hi there,
You may still want to contact the SSA regarding this, you can find a listing of local offices here:

Hi,
My husband is disabled and receives SSDI, our daughter was receiving aux benefits. However they were cut off at 18. I read somewhere that if she was still in school she should still be receiving the Aux benefit. She is currently a college sophomore, is that considered 'still in school'?
Also i also read that as his spouse i could receive Aux benefits, what are the qualifications for this?
I am also pregnant due to deliver in June, will this child also be eligible from birth?

Hi Keisha,
Your daughter would not be eligible for auxiliary benefits as she is over 18 and not in high school. As a spouse, you may need to have a child in your care to qualify for benefits. Your child may also be eligible for benefits.
My dad was taken off of ssi and put on retirement security how long till he gets it back?

Hi Toni,
He may be able to get it back if his retirement income is less than $735 a month.
Will a dependent child listed on an application still receive benefits if the SSD is a closed time period case?
In reply to Will a dependent child listed by Christine (not verified)
Hi Christine,
If that person's parent was determined to be disabled for a period of time but is not entitled to ongoing monthly benefits, the child would also not be eligible for monthly benefits.
I have a question. My husband gets a check and the babies draw off of him. But my daughter has a heart condition. Could she get her own check started and keep the one she is getting off her father? How does that work?
In reply to I have a question. My husband by victoria (not verified)
Hi Victoria,
While she may be able to do so, child SSI benefits are based on the parent's income and so you would have to be under the limits for income and financial resources for child SSI benefits.

My childrens father get disability benefits for all 3 of our children. But our custody agreement states i solely have custody of 1, he has sole custody of 1 and we share custody of the other. How can he get benfits for all 3? There's been a custody order since May 2016
