Direct Deposit

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I currently receive SSI for my middle son, it comes to me in the form of a check. How do I get this to be direct deposit into my checking account?

Hi there,
It's a good idea to keep a separate account for disability benefits as that would ensure that you can track the money that you use from that account.

I just recently became the payee of my mother and have been the payee for my 15 year old son. I am curious if both benefits will go on the direct express card I've had for him or if I should be expecting another card for her?

Hi Justice,
You may receive another card as it would be linked to a separate account for benefits.

Hi there,
It may be a good idea to keep funds in separate accounts to ensure that you can track the funds paid to you by the SSA.

HI David,
You may want to contact the SSA regarding this, you can contact them at 1-800-772-1213.

Hi Pamela,
You may be able to do so, but it's a good idea to keep benefits separate to make sure that you can track those benefits.

Hi Sabrina,
If your banking info does not change, then you may receive it the month after you are reinstated.

HI Steve,
It may take a while, I would recommend not closing your other account until you confirm that the SSA has deposited funds in the new account.

My little sister gets a disability check. She has autism. My question is...she gets her check direct deposited on to her direct express card. She is supposed to get her check on the 1st of every month. Why is it not pending and it's the 31st???

Hi Andrea,

Usually they come on the first of the month, but don't panic if you don't see it right away. I can't say for sure why it is not pending, I would recommend speaking with a SSA representative regarding it.
