Does anybody know whether that SSI back pay comes on a certain day of the month? I got my first installment the same week I was approved for SSI it came on the same day I got my first benefit. But I should receive one in January and I'm trying to figure out when I will see it? If anyone has any experience with receiving them in would love to hear about it!
That is an excellent question! I would guess that they arrive on the first of the month, which is when you get all your SSI benefits. But maybe someone else has a different story.

Do you have to bring in recipients in order to receive my second installment ssi back pay

Hi Reginald,
It's a good idea to document what you've used back pay and benefits on, however you may not need to unless otherwise specified by the SSA.

Hi Kim,
If you were told you were to receive it in April and you haven't by now then I would recommend speaking with a SSA representative at your local office.
I have not received my last installment of my past due ssi payments. The last payment should have come in January. They are to be sent every 6 months and
January was my 6th month. When I call someone always gives me a different excuse. What should I do?

Hi Shea,
I'm sorry to hear that! Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do other than continue to call the SSA. If you persist a couple of times, you should be able to receive your back pay.

If you are approved for SSI you'll receive it in six-month installments, if you're on SSDI you'll get it all at once.
