I've been enduring this nightmarish, life-altering process since July 2016. Got 1st denial as expected 5 mos after filing, and 2nd denial of reconsideration a month after that. It took another 17 months to schedule the hearing which was held in Oct 2018. The website has not updated since the hearing date was set. It still says my claim is processing. Aren't they supposed to provide at least basic updates?
Hello! By a general rule of thumb, you only want to check the status of a disability application about once every thirty days because they don't update it too frequently. If you want to talk to someone about this, I suggest calling the SSA at 1-800-772-1213
Where can I check my claim status. That would be nice

Hi Michael,
You can try checking your MySSA account, calling the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 or checking in with your lawyer if you're working with one. Best of luck!

Hi Steve,
It may be that you didn't meet the technical qualifications. So if you are applying for SSI you may no meet the income limits or for SSDI you may not have enough work credits! Many claims are also denied for insufficient evidence so I would make sure you have as much supporting documentation (doctors notes, test results, medical invoices, prescriptions, etc.) to show you meet the Blue Book listings. Best of luck!
Does it mean I'm approved when I can no longer see my status it was processing 2 of 3 now it doesn't have that option when I called they said my medical papers just need to be reviewed by case manager

Hi Deedee,
This doesn't necessarily mean a decision has been made one way or the other, but it does seem like you should be receiving a decision soon.
My status online still says appeal under review a medical decision has been made...my lawyer just called to tell me that I won a fully favorable decision...so the website isn't always accurate.

Hi Tammy,
Sometimes lawyers find out before you do. You should receive a letter in the mail explaining the decision.
