I was 34 weeks pregnant when I filed for SDI. I told my doctor and she told me I had to be 36 weeks pregnant to receive benefits. I just hit 36 weeks on Wednesday and she filled her portion out online. What will happen since I filed too early?

Hi Dan,
You'll need medical evidence that you meet the Blue Book listing. I'd consult with your doctor to make sure you have ample evidence. You'll also need enough work credits for SSDI (if you worked 5 of the last 10 years, you likely have enough). The SSA has a checklist (ssa.gov/hlp/radr/10/ovw001-checklist.pdf) that may be helpful to make sure you have everything you need.
Again, make sure you have enough medical evidence. One of the main reasons claims are initially denied is because of lack of medical support.
Best of luck!
