I became disabled in October of 2010 and applied for SSDI. I have been treated by my doctor every week since then and have retained an attorney for my SSDI process.
I have been paying in to the Social Security system for 38 years and am 55 years old. I had been at my last job for 20 years until I had to retire in June 2012 due to my disability.
During my hearing the judge asked the Vocational Expert if I would be able to do full time work in my present position and she told the judge that I would not be able to. The judge then asked I would be able to do full time work in any position and the VE answered no, that I would not.
My doctor also provided paperwork that stated that I have a total disability and could not do any work. I also provided a letter from my former boss who I worked directly for the entire 20 years stating that I was a dependable and dedicated employee until I started missing a lot of days during the summer of 2010 due to the start up of my disability.
I just found out that my case is with a Decision Writer and would be turning the case back over to the judge in a couple of weeks.
My question is, with my work history, age, doctors treatment and findings of the Vocational Expert, what would be my chances of being rewarded benefits?
Hello, I was told today the judge has made her decision on my case, but it was waiting to be written up, could u plz tell me what that mean??

Hi Terry,
Once a disability hearing has taken place, the judge provides his decision and the basis of his determination to a decision writer. The decision writer formulates a written disability hearing decision. Once they complete the written hearing decision, they send it to the judge for a review.
Best Wishes,
Eric

I'm sorry to hear that! If you had moved, then this may not be a problem as the SSA may be able to just update your information.

A Decision Has Been Made On Your Benefit Application
Your claim for Disability benefits has been processed. A notice has been sent to you with a detailed explanation of the decision. What dose this mean that I'm approved

Hi Christy,
This means that the SSA is writing the decision and should be sending you a decision letter.
I was wondering what was the waiting.process in NC after appeal hearing only been a week but my lawyer was sooo confident

Hi Shanny,
It's not black and white, but a disability appeal can take longer or shorter, depending on the type of appeal that is filed. Hearing requests (the second level of appeal), for example, will, almost by necessity, take considerably longer than a request for reconsideration (the first level of appeal).
Best of Luck,
Eric
I went to my hearing and was approved verbally, and now it's been over 90 days and the adl says ready for hearing, what could that be about??

I had my hearing with an ALJ in October 2016. My lawyer claims that a decision has been made but they will not tell them yet because they are writing it up. It will be 8 months in June and still no word. Just processing.

Hi Cathy,
The disability appeals process does take some time, including writing the decision. Hang in there!

Hello Cathy,
Sorry to hear that you been waiting for sometime now, but it can take some time. At least you are now in the writing up process. My case is now in the review process. The level will be the writing up part. I had my hearing in May and its only been 3 weeks, so it should be in the writing process sometime in the next 2 weeks or so. I'm just being patient. Good luck to you on your case.
Thanks,
Sabrina
