Does anybody know whether that SSI back pay comes on a certain day of the month? I got my first installment the same week I was approved for SSI it came on the same day I got my first benefit. But I should receive one in January and I'm trying to figure out when I will see it? If anyone has any experience with receiving them in would love to hear about it!

Hi Barry,
Back pay typically comes four months after you begin receiving disability benefits. If you are receiving SSDI you'll receive one lump sum. If you are receiving SSI, you'll receive it in 3 installments each 6 months apart.

I got my first SSI disability benefit check on November 1 2018.
When can I expect the first backpay check?
It's March and I haven't gotten any of it.

The SSA decides your back pay by establishing a date of onset for your disability and how long it took to be approved. You'd then receive payment for the months you waited. Once the amount is decided, it likely can't be changed.
How can I find out if SSI sent out my last installment payment check out yet.

Your best bet would likely be to contact the SSA (1-800-772-1213) and ask them. It should come about 6 months after your last installment, so if it hasn't been that long yet then it likely won't have been issued yet.

i received my second installment of my back payment awarded in december. is there anyway to find out when the final payment will be deposited and for how much?

Your last installment should come about 6 months after your second one. As for how much, we don't have access to that information. You can try calling the SSA or logging in to your MySSA account. You can also check your approval letter to see the amount that was stated.
My son got approved for SSI in the amount of $469.47 a month. My son got his 1st monthly payment in April 2019 on the direct express card. SSI administration told me that he will get three installments out of $5700 back pay so my question is it’s going on three months and will his first installment come on the direct express card?
