Should I apply? Opinions appreciated.

I am thinking about applying, but everyone keeps telling me there is no need because disability is too hard to get. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, Interstitial Cystitis, Sjogren's Syndrome that affects multiple organs, Degenerative Arthritis, Reactive Hypoglycemia, Fibromyalgia, Hypothyroidism, TMJ, Spondylosis, and Spondylolisthesis (with spinal cord damage). I work part-time now in a business that I own, but when my Sjogren’s flares up, I am down several weeks at a time. I know it takes a long time to get approved for disability. Would it be better to file now or wait until I am completely unable to work?

Hi there,
I would definitely consider applying, you may even want to speak with a disability advocate or attorney to help maximize your chance of being awarded benefits. They would be better able to go over your options regarding the timing of your application and help guide you through the application process. If you fill out the form on the left of this page, we can have one reach out to you.

Hi there,
That means that they have sent it to someone to formally write the decision, however, I could not say if that means you are approved or not. Every case is different, and as such time frames may vary as well.
