I am considering moving from mississippi to louisiana and would like some advice. I own an old run down house and small lot in Ms which i will sell at some point along with an old truck. I would use the money from the sale to buy a decent vehicle and a modest place. I hope to get at least 20,000 for my place. My friend in La says he might sell me his place...a mobile home in rural La.
Mostly, i'm worried about medical stuff. i have Ms Medicaid's 'Magnolia health plan' and currently see doctors here in Ms. What happens with my medical if i move to La?
There is a walgreens where i'd move and also a Regions bank which is good.
Any tips or advice would be great; thanks!
Hi There,
If you move to Louisiana, you may have to re-apply for LA medicare benefits. I would reach out to your local SSA office and let them know that you're considering moving, they would be better able to coordinate your move. You can find a listing for them here:
