Wife wants a divorce my income from ssdi is three times the amount of hers. Will her benefits go up if we divorce or stay the same. We are on or own work record. She could never survive on the income she gets from ssdi.

Hi there,
Your wife would need to be over 62 or caring for a child under 16 to receive disability benefits from your work record if you divorce.
MY HUSBAND WILL BE 66 IN SEPT HE RECEIVES SSDI . I'AM 64 ALSO ON SSDI WILL I BE ABLE TO COLLECT ON HIS SSDI IN SEPT WHEN HE TURNS 66 ?

Hi Claire,
You may be able to collect benefits based off of his work record only if it would be more than what you would receive on your own work record.
My husband and I both have ssdi his is significantly higher than mine I turned 50 can I collect off his since mine is lower no kids

Hi Mel,
You may be able to, it might be a good idea to contact the SSA regarding this.
