I have a 22 year old son with a severe club foot deformity. Corrected surgically. He has chronic pain and cannot walk or stand on the affected foot. Subsequent issues developed within his hips and low back due to the odd gait he has. Only option were told is surgical fusion, locking the ankle into a 90 degree. Is it possible for him to obtain benefits at his age?
Hi there,
He may be able to do so. Additionally, if you're receiving Social Security benefits, such as retirement benefits, he may be eligible for benefits based on your work record. You may want to contact the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 for more information regarding this.
