I am a 33 yo female. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 after I was hospitalized in June. My dr has taken me out of work and I have been out of work since.I have applied for ssi/ssdi in July 2017. At the end of september dds called and canceled my ce appointment and told me they made a decision. I called my local office at the end of November and they told me that they had until December 22 to make a decision and to call after that. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Hi there,
The SSA does have deadlines to take action or respond for cases. You may want to contact a disability attorney or advocate if you are denied, you can get in touch with one by filling out this form:

I'm 27 yrs old and was diagnosed with schitzephrenic bipolar and I hear voices that does have me unemployed and I have a Dr. .already applied and waited my 4 months and got denied wit a letter at the wrong address so I'm still waiting to hear ithe decision letter they suppose to sent at my address. It says I didn't do my paperwork but never gave me paperwork just exchanged medical records. So I'm get that letter and take it to the ssi office to see if that's the decision or where's my paperwork if I can appeal

Hi Cheyenne,
I'm sorry to hear about that! You may want to contact the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 as soon as you can to make sure you can start the appeals process.
