Mental evaluation appointment

I have severe lumbar spinal stenosis and have been on meds prescribed from a pain clinic for 10 years. About 2 years ago I started falling and have lost most of the feeling in both legs from the knee down. I also have Type 2 diabetes and profound hearing loss. I had an MRI and it showed my back condition is worsening. I had to stop work because of the pain and falling. I applied for disability benefits a while back and they called me to get a little background. She asked me if I was still suffering from depression and I said yes. Not terribly but because I can’t do the things I used to. 3 months later I received a letter from Health and Human services saying I was scheduled for a ADULT MENTAL STATUS EVALUATION.
Does this mean they are doing this to close my case and deny me? I didn’t use depression as the reason I was applying. My MRI shows 7 of my lumbar vertebrae have collapsed.
