can you recommend any advocacy groups to assist with a ssi overpayment appeal in Texas? or a pro bono attorney?

I lost my SSI when 3 years ago my soon to be Ex-husband started receiving SSD. Will i be able to get SSI back once the divorce is finished? I am from Massachusetts.

I know that you have 9 months to spend SSI back pay before it counts as a resource. Do you have a certain length of time to spend each month's SSI benefit before it counts as a resource, or do you have to spend the whole amount in the month it is received?

if I use getting ssi can I get it again

My mom took my daughter to SSA and told tyhem something adn now thwye may made her the representative payee, I went to dispute it and the lady at SSA gave me a very hard time, I was never questioned or asked if I wanted my mom to be the payee, i was payee for 5 years and they just sent a letter saying my mom is payee now, I have full custody and I am not allowing my mom to see her anymore, what can i do?

I live in a state that does not recognize same sex marriage. If I marry my partner, will it affect my SSI?

1 IF I GAVE EXTRA MONEYS TO MY STEPSON TO SPEND WILE HE ON DISABILITY EACH MONTH WILL IT EFFECT HIS DISABILITY (KINDA OF LIKE A GIFT)

2 DO I HAVE TO REPORT THE CASH MONEYS EACH MONTH I GIVE IT TO HIM

3 APROX 1300$ EACH MTH

4 IF ITS NOT REPORTED HOW WILL IT EFFECT HIM BEING ON DISABILTY

Does SS supply a recipient with a social worker? I need to take advantage of all the resources that are out there for people like my sister who needs 24 around the clock care. She has cerebral palsy and is mentally ill with the mindset of a 4 month old. I currently need an electronic stairway chair since i have 2 herniated discs and i cant carry her 80lb dead weight body anymore. she has medicaid via ssi but it only covers the chair partially. being a low income family i would need help to complete the monies needed to get and have the chair installed.

would she qualify if so where do I start?

I have been my brother's re-payee(sp?) for several years and feel that he is more than capable of handling his own money. What is the process to change this arrangement?
