Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

I need advice as I have finally been approved for ssdi reinstatement on my exr request. I'm appaled it has taken 9 months, no provisional payments, and the local office is horrendous. I finally got congress involved within 1 day things started moving. However, today I have found that they applied all my backpay 8k to an alleged overpayment of which I have been fighting for 9 years and it's finally pending. Ince, they read the file they will find there is no overpayment and have to pay back all payments made at 25/ month.

An individual on disability seeking employment with us, asked to volunteer-work during June and July, then begin paid-work in August once her disability is discontinued. Is this something that is okay from the ER and EE standpoint?

Are there a certain number of hours she has to be limited to per week? Who do I tell her to contact to make sure she maintains her eligibility throughout? Lastly, can she be paid for work (short hours) while on disability?

If someone gets sent to jail for 4 months how will the social security dept know ?

I'll explain this to the best of my knowledge. When I first got on disability in 2014, I had SSDI and also SSI. When we (my parents and I, my father is my payee) sent in the paperwork showing how much rent I pay, the government said I wasn't paying enough rent, so they took away my SSI. I went from getting about 720 to 667.

Is it correct that my fully favorable decision on SSDI and SSi by an ALJ that states "Based on the application for a period of disability and disability insurance benefits protectively filed on july 29 ,2014, the claimant has been disabled under sections 216(i) and 223(d) of the SSA since july 15,2012" and my benefit amount of $1705 and my beneficiaries (2kids 1500K$) family max month of $3205 that my SSDI backpay will be 55 months at $3205 totaling $176,275.00???

Hello, everyone. I am a total of 90% VA Rated Disabled which in part I am 50% PTSD VA rated. I have 2 doctors letters explaining my ​conditions I have been summoned to report to a SSDI Psychological/Mental Exam some time (Mid May). Can anyone tell me what and how this Psychological/Mental Exam is about and what I should and should not do at this exam? Thank You in advance.

I recently received a lump sum payment for disability back-pay. Almost 75% of the this payment was withheld because of court ordered child support. However, I sacrificed in all areas of my life to make sure that my child support was duly paid. I am not behind on my support payments, and am left wondering if I will be awarded the money that was erroneously withheld? I will have the child support deducted from my monthly disability check going forward, but that has nothing to do with my lump sum payment. Also, I did not have the support lowered even though I was no longer able to work.

I will turn 64 this year. I have medical conditions that limit my activities of daily living. I have been under treatment for these conditions for close to ten years. My 40 year career span has been in the new car industry and my pain from arthritis has severely limited my ability to perform the necessary job requirements. I was written up for poor performance in April of 2015 and subsequently terminated in January of 2017 for poor performance due to my inability to walk more than 80 steps or stand for more than 30 minutes.

SSA found that I became disabled in June 2016, and that I became eligible to receive benefits beginning November 2016. I've been working all along. My nine-month trial period ends in July 2017.
